The Vatican Library, in collaboration with Sensorium and Humanity 2.0, is introducing blockchain technology and non-fungible tokens.
The Holy See plans to create an NFT gallery so that people around the world can see works of art, manuscripts, a huge collection of rare books, coins, engravings and paintings belonging to the library.
Thanks to blockchain technology, the record of ownership and history of each unique item will be secure.
A Vatican spokesperson explained that the NFT exhibits are a social project and will not be used for sale.
