From September 18th to 19th, the VIII Caspian Media Forum took place in Astrakhan, which was opened by a meeting of the heads of delegations from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. The Caspian Media Forum has been granted the status of a federal event.
The event was organized by the government of the Astrakhan region with the support of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, as well as the Center for International Studies “Caspian-Eurasia.” In 2023, the media forum took place with the support of the Intergovernmental Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States (IFHC).
This year, the main theme of the forum was public diplomacy and social media as factors in bringing nations together. Among the projects of the “Caspian Five,” particular importance is attached to the creation of an Association of Special Economic Zones of the Caspian countries and states through which the international transport corridor passes.
Representatives of the company IWI Global Service, who participated in the event, held negotiations with the governor of the Astrakhan region and ambassadors from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Representatives from Kazakhstan expressed interest in our economic model for gold and diamond mining using ultrasound rock exploration technologies and accepted an invitation to participate in the upcoming Africa-Russia Economic Business Forum (South Africa, Johannesburg).
