Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) can be not only a lucrative financial asset but also a convenient tool for everyday life.

Lufthansa Group, the parent company of one of the world’s largest airlines, has announced the public launch of an NFT-based loyalty program. All group airlines, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, and others, participate in the Uptrip loyalty program, allowing passengers to receive digital collectible cards during flights.

These thematic cards are based on specific destinations, aircraft, and even certain holidays. By collecting a complete set of NFTs from a particular collection, Uptrip users can unlock special airline privileges, including free in-flight Wi-Fi, access to VIP lounges at airports, redeemable air miles, and more. Uptrip also plans to introduce a trading feature, enabling users to fill any gaps in their collections.

The Lufthansa Group loyalty program boasts around 36 million participants.
